Marilyn Anderson’s Flower City Arts Book Arts Center relief woodcut exhibit “Guardians of the Arts: Prints of Guatemalan Artists and Artisans” opens January 5th and runs through February 2nd.

Artists Talk

To compliment her exhibit, Anderson will give a powerpoint lecture about her work and its genesis at Flower City Arts Arts Center, 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 28th.

The show and the accompanying bilingual book were more than ten years in the making, and graphically celebrate Guatemalan arts and crafts traditions and the artists themselves. The relief prints illustrate and describe techniques, the various uses of the crafts, and their history and place in today’s world.

Anderson’s newest book will be available for sale: Guardians of the Arts: Prints of Guatemalan Artists and Artisans / Guardianes de las artes: grabados de artistas y artesanos de Guatemala. The book is published in Guatemala by Ediciones Del Pensativo, Antigua Guatemala (2016).
